Sartre's Postcartesian Ontology: On Negation and Existence
This article maintains that Jean-Paul Sartreâs early masterwork, Being and
Nothingness, is primarily concerned with developing an original approach to
the being of consciousness. Sartreâs ontology resituates the Cartesian cogito
in a complete system that provides a new understanding of negation and a
dynamic interpretation of human existence. The article examines the role of
consciousness, temporality and the relationship between self and others in the
light of Sartreâs arguments against âclassicalâ rationalism. The conclusion suggests
that Sartreâs departure from modern foundationalism has âpostmodernâ
implications that emerge in the areas of ontology, existential analytics and the
ethics of human freedom

Fenomenologia [âEncyklopedia Brytyjskaâ: wersja I]
This text is the âfirst draftâ (erster Entwurf) of Edmund Husserlâs article for the 14th edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica. The text had four versions (A, B, C, D) and it received its final version after many months of work. This âfirst draftâ has a cognitive value as it reflects Husserlâs spontaneous intuitions about understanding of phenomenology and a phenomenological method in the vein of transcendental philosophy, which he has created, developed, improved and on and on modified. This text is the âfirst draftâ (erster Entwurf) of Edmund Husserlâs article for the 14th edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica. The text had four versions (A, B, C, D) and it received its final version after many months of work. O podstawowych stanowiskach w etyce antycznej
Translated text comes from Edmund Husserlâs course âEinleitung in die Ethikâ [âIntroduction into Ethicsâ] from the spring semester 1920, repeated and extended in the spring semester 1924, each time in Freiburg. Husserl presents Socrates as a reformer of philosophy and philosophical practice â in his criticism of sophistic, skepsis and empiricism. As Bogaczyk-Vormayr emphasizes in her introduction, Husserl does not evoke any historical paradigm, he does not want to â simply said â be a historian of philosophy; on the contrary, he presents his view of ethics, which we should call a phenomenological one. That means he offers a critical history of philosophy â his analyses are focused on philosophical ideas and only their philosophical potential is what matters to him.
